All types of trauma can be placed into one of two categories. Firstly, there are “wounds of withdrawal.” These are times when you expected someone to be there, or something to happen, and it did not. You were a baby and you reached up for mama, but she was not there. You expected a relationship to continue, and it ended. These wounds leave a residue of emotional pain in our body which is located in our heart centre.

Secondly, there are “wounds of invasion.” These are times when we expected our boundaries to be respected, and they were not. Someone did something to us that we did not invite and did not want. These include incidences of abuse – physical, emotional, sexual. These also include wounds to our psychological boundaries. Perhaps we had a parent who did not allow us to speak for ourselves, who excessively tried to control us and restrict our development. These wounds leave a residue of anger in our body, located around the belly area.

Both of these types of woundings, especially when they happen early in our lives, tend to leave a charge of emotion and energy repressed within us. This can become a problem. The charge can create anxiety or depression as we learn strategies to avoid the inner wound. Many people have their lives hijacked by these traumatic woundings.

The solution is to find a safe way to go into the traumatised part of us and release the charge, such that it no longer controls our behaviour and our life on a subconscious level.

In this workshop, I will give brief presentations about these kinds of wounds and invite questions. Then you will have a chance to share about your own life and trauma with a partner. After this, you will take part in healing exercises drawn from my work with Bioenergetics, Breathwork and Emotional Expression.

You will learn how to release the past from your system, such that it no longer controls you and restricts you.

I teach in simple English, speaking slowly and not using technical language. You will need to be comfortable with basic English to take part. For the sharing parts of the weekend, you speak in Georgian.
